Where Has The Time Gone??
This is the first post of 2015! Hard to believe that it’s almost half way through March already and Fiona’s kitchen has been a hive of activity! If you have been following the progress on Facebook on the right hand side here, you will have seen all the activity with new cake designs being made regularly. In fact Fiona has been sooo busy that already she has limited availability for several months this year. If you are thinking of ordering a cake – contact us now to secure yours with a deposit.

Wedding Fayre – Radstone Hotel – formerly Shawlands Park Hotel on 9th November
The next Wedding Fayre will be at the Radstone Hotel (formerly Shawlands Park Hotel), Larkhall on Sunday 9th November from 12pm to 4pm. Find everything you need for the perfect wedding under one roof, and enjoy complimentary canape and glass of sparkling wine. Entry is free of charge, come and meet Fiona to see a selection new and popular wedding cakes and discuss your requirements.
Crutherland House Wedding Fayre and more…
The Crutherland House wedding fayre this Sunday the 21st of September has been cancelled due to the organiser falling ill. Hopefully this will be rescheduled for some time next year. However, Fiona will be exhibiting at doing the Hilton Grosvenor on the 5th October, Castle Cary hotel in Cumbernauld on the 12th October, Westerwood Hotel on the 19th October and the Shawlands on the 9th of November.
Wedding Shows Coming Up…
This weekend – 14th September – The Georgian Hotel in Coatbridge is holding their wedding show. Fiona will be showcasing a selection of her cakes at the show, so why not come and see them for yourself and discuss your requirements. If you order the cake of the month, a 10% discount is available (does not apply to fruit or chocolate cakes). This discount for The Francesca Cake ends at midnight on 30th September.
If you can’t make it to The Georgian why not come and see us at the Wedding Show in The Crutherland Hotel in East Kilbride from 1pm to 4.30pm on Sunday 21st September. This particular show is in aid of MacMillan Cancer Organisation. Tickets priced £8 are available at the door and all the exhibitors that day will be giving £50 to the MacMillan Cancer Fund.
Stunning Prada Cake
Having had a busy summer and going into September and October with limited availability we have been hard at work and are delighted to bring you our newest cake shown here on the right. This is our Prada Cake – a stunning 6-tier ruffle cake with shimmering top tier. To get a quote / place an order contact us quoting “Prada” and we will be delighted to get back to you. Variation on the Most Popular Cake…
The Crompton cake is a new take on the Kidman cake with a square base and pearls in each daisy instead of diamontees. This 3 tier cake is topped with a styrofoam ball tastefully decorated with the daisies and pearls. The middle tier is surrounded by edible flowers with intermittent pearls. The Most Popular Wedding Cake
Fiona has been baking custom made cakes for several years and throughout that time one cake has proved most popular with brides-to-be and their soon-to-be husbands. Known as the Kidman Cake which uses hand-cut daisies with diamontees and a removable top ball. This can be either 3 or 4 tiers as required with hand-cut daisies which are edible on the actual layers with intermittent diamontees.

If you’ve had a chance to look at Fiona’s Facebook page you will have seen the huge number of cakes that she has made over the last few years. Each cake has been custom made by hand to enhance whatever special occasion they are made for. Anyone can make a cake but it takes real skill to craft each one into the works of art that Fiona’s creations become. However, there is no point having a cake that looks nice and taste is something that also matters. Fiona offers cakes in a variety of types and flavours including madeira sponge, chocolate, orange, lemon, fruit and toffee flavoured cakes…
Since Fiona has uploaded all the photographs over the last few years, we are doing our best with the website to get as many of these cakes uploaded as possible and so far we have managed to publish a few cakes on the Wedding and Novelty and Celebration cakes pages.
